Pattern Licence and Buyer Terms

This pattern is the designer's work. We sell it for them and send you the file. Here is what you get and what you can do with it.

What you get

One PDF of this pattern by [Designer], emailed to you as an attachment when your order ships. No instant download, no link to expire. The file is yours to keep. If you lose it, write to us and we will send it again.

What you can do

Make it as often as you like, for yourself or as gifts, and print a copy for your own use. And you can sell what you make. If you knit or crochet the piece with your own hands, sell it at a market, in your shop, wherever you like. Two conditions come with that: the pieces have to be made by hand, by you or by people in your own small business, so this does not cover outsourced industrial, factory, automated or mass production; and credit the designer by name in your listing. Use your own photos, not ours.

What you cannot do

Share, forward, resell, upload or reprint the PDF. That is the one line that really matters, because the file is how the designer gets paid. Same goes for copying the instructions into your own pattern, post or video. Send people to the pattern page instead. We would love that.

Translating and teaching

A translation is a new version of the designer's work, so ask first. Teaching is welcome: use this pattern in a class or workshop, as long as every student has bought their own copy. Show your finished piece on video any time. Reading the instructions out on camera is not ok.

Refunds

Yarn: 30 days, same as everything else we sell. Pattern: if your order has not shipped yet, the PDF has not gone out and we will refund it. Once the PDF has been sent, pattern purchases are final to the extent applicable law allows, and where the law requires it, only once you have agreed to us sending the file straight away and understood that doing so ends your statutory right to change your mind. None of this affects your rights if the file is faulty or not what we described. If it will not open, or something in it is wrong, tell us. We will fix it or refund you.

Promotions

Discount codes do not apply to patterns. The whole pattern price goes to the designer, so a code would come straight out of their pay rather than ours.

If the pattern changes or comes down

Your copy stays yours, even if we stop selling it later. If the designer issues a correction, we will email you the updated PDF.

Who to contact

Your order, the yarn, or a missing file: info@estakoyarns.com. Questions about the instructions themselves go to the designer, who knows those stitches better than we do, and we will put you in touch.
