OEKO-TEX® Certified Yarn

Every Estako yarn line is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. Each yarn is independently tested for a long list of harmful substances and certified for products that touch the skin, so you know what is in the yarn before you cast on.

What OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 means

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is one of the most widely recognized textile-safety certifications in the world. A yarn that carries it has been lab-tested against strict limits for substances such as heavy metals, formaldehyde, and certain azo dyes. Testing covers the finished yarn, not just the raw fiber, and if one component fails the yarn does not pass.

Why it matters for your projects

When you make something to wear, gift, or hand to a child, the yarn matters as much as the pattern. Certification takes out the guesswork: amigurumi, a baby blanket, or a next-to-skin sweater all start with yarn that has been tested to a published safety standard.
